Supplying Films for printing of Labels/On body designs

Please prepare films for printing the disc label according to the table shown below

Feature Requirements
Configuration Positive Right leading, Emulsion Side Up
Number of films per design One film is required for each colour to be printed. Maximum colours = 6
Labeling films Each film to include

 

                  • Product name or job no.
                  • Registration marks at each corner
                  • Marked to indicate TOP/Bottom
                  • Marked to indicate the colour for that film. Either PMS
                  • reference no. or one of CMYK
Quality Type should be even

Artwork can be supplied in digital formats on CD-R/ZIP discs etc. and we will arrange to have the films output. If you require this service please discuss it with your normal contact.

Half Tone Designs

Feature Requirements
Screen Ruling 100 lines per inch maximum (40 lines per cm)
Highlights Minimum 15%
Shadow Maximum 85%
Screen Elliptical dot
Screen Angle 1st screen colour - 0 degrees
2nd screen colour - 30 degrees

NOTE

Contrast can be increased by printing on to a solid background of a contrasting colour.

Spot colour - Text, Line Sizes and Types

Normal Reversed Out
Line Width Minimum 0.1 mm Minimum 0.1 mm
Type Size Minimum 4 point Minimum 4 point
Font Styles No Restriction Fine fonts or Serifs of other fonts can result in line widths > the minimum

Picture Prints or Designs using Process Colours (CMYK)

Feature Requirements
Screen Ruling 100 lines per inch maximum (40 lines per cm)
Highlights Minimum 15%
Shadows Maximum 85%
Screen Type Elliptical dot
Colour Reference Cromalin, match print or similar to be supplied as colour reference.
Screen Angles
Background Colour A white backgroung is recommended and will be printed unless instructed otherwise.
Text should not be reversed out of more the TWO colours.
Reversed Out Text A seperate layer of film for the text should be supplied so that this can be printed on top of the colours. This gives significant improvements to the image quality achieved.
